Lanzarote 14th >> 28th February

Here are a few photos of our short break in Lanzarote, including views from our apartment, which was particularly good.

Others include some of the sights of the island, the trek up the volcano - Montanas del Fuego was particularly impressive - I have never seen so many camels in one place, and the BBQing of the chickens over the hot pit was impressive.

The views of the craters were marvelous - the photos unfortunately do not do justice to what we saw.

The Jardin de Cactus was pristine with so many types - all shown off to their best, and the Jameos del Aqua was so unusual - this apparent oasis in the middle of a volcanic area made a great attraction.

The apartment was just right for us, 2 weeks was just enough - I am sure we saw just about all of the island and most of the attractions and would recommend it as a beach holiday with many interesting places to explore, and good value for money.

A couple of pictures from 1953

Here are 2 scans of me and my mum and dad taken in Wheatley down on the Grange, thanks to Bernard and Doreen for sending them on to me.

I can't quite remember this date but I think they are lovely.
